More than 98 percent of all battery lead and plastic is recycled, making lead-acid battery disposal a true environmental success story. The Battery Industry has worked hard to help 38 states adopt battery recycling laws with another 5 having battery disposal laws.

These past and present efforts are in place to insure that battery disposal continues to be an important part of keeping the environment safe through battery recycling.
